Time EchoES (2015)

Inspired By Idris Khan's A Memory…After Bach’s Cello Suites, I decided to try as is usually my approach to replicate the effect. In this case, the original film was taken on 16mm film, which allowed for the film to be exposed multiple times, creating overlapping images. I used my Blackmagic Camera connected to Isadora initially to create a live version of the video, recorded as it happened in the lighting booth at the concert. I also recorded RAW footage of the performance in camera. The video on this page is that RAW video processed in after effects to be identical to the live recorded footage, only in a higher quality.
