Losing Reality (2017)

For the Final Major Project of my Art Foundation, I use Virtual Reality 360 video to attempt to simulate dementia. The work draws upon many facets of dementia gleaned from both personal experience and extensive research. The project started as I was experimenting with 3D CGI Animation, I began to render the creations I was making as 360 VR images rather than standard flat images. As I moved onto video in this medium it occurred to me that this immersive experience was exactly where I had been gravitating to in my art. I love the idea of immersion in my work and I feel like VR leaves a lasting impression on people that other art forms don't, at least while it is relatively unknown and a fairly niche experience.

Below is the 360 work itself, viewable on Youtube in 360 degrees and in Google Cardboard and other headsets in Stereoscopic 360.
